It can be hard to find something vegan-friendly to watch. Sure there are plenty of articles claiming to have a list of the “top 10 vegan movies,” but they’re all different and subjective. And then they don’t link to where we can easily watch a movie, or the links are broken, or the site doesn’t include the trailer so we can decide if we want to watch it. Some movies can even be pretty hard to find because they were released decades ago. And what about having a warning if there’s graphic content that we may get triggered by?
We realized there are many plant-based, animal-friendly and vegan-friendly movies out in the world, and no easy way to search through all of them to find something meaningful to watch. So we set out to create such a place. Here you will find movie listings that are categorized and detailed. On each listing you will find a button to watch the trailer without having to leave our site (for the ones that have trailers). You will find warnings if the trailer or movie itself has any graphic content, along with descriptions of the content so you can decide if you want to watch it. You will find links to watch or buy the movie, and those links are specific to your country (for the US, UK, and Canada). You will find information on how to host a screening, where available. And you will find testimonials from people whose lives were positively changed by the movie.
We hope you enjoy what we’ve built, and that you share it widely. Contact us to let us know what you think and if you have any suggestions for improvement.

How do you define ‘plant-based’?
We use ‘plant-based’ interchangeably with ‘vegan’. As defined by The Vegan Society, veganism is “a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.”
How does a movie get listed?
We will list most movies that have a vegan message, a vegan character, the goal of reducing or exposing animal suffering and exploitation, a focus on climate change, or a focus on sustainability that does not specifically recommend consuming or exploiting animals.
If you represent or know of a movie that isn’t listed please fill out this form or contact us so that we can add it.
